Royal Troon Golf Club was founded in 1878 and was awarded the Royal Charter in its centenary year of 1978. The tartan employs all the colours of the club badge and logos, with the dark blue representing the Firth of Clyde, green and yellow representing the golf course, white for the golf balls and red for the club members.
